The Canvas
Our artists use high quality, 100% cotton canvas that is coated with acid-free titanium gesso, which ensures long term life for museum quality paintings. Cotton canvas has very durable fabric for oil painting. Canvases with a bigger weave are ideal for thick textured paintings and the finer weave canvases are well for finer works like portraits and architectures.
The Oil Paints

At PaintingAll Art Gallery we generally use Winsor & Newton, Rembrandt and Grumbacher. The oil paints utilized by our artists are specifically formulated to ensure pure, rich and vibrant colors, which is the result of the perfect balance of oil content and color pigment.
The Painting Brushes

The above photo shows some common types of paintbrushes: Round, Flat, Bright, Filbert, Fan, Angle, Mop, and Rigger. Each type of paintbrushes comes with several sizes. As a painting process we usually go from using larger brushes to smaller brushes for details.

- Sketches the outline of the oil painting

The painting process starts out with sketching the outline of the painting before applying any oil paints to the canvas. This will give an opportunity to pay attention to the composition of the painting.
- Painting the first layer

We apply the fist coat of paint to the canvas. We will paint the background; fill in the main subjects and not worrying about the small details. The painting is still in the early stage and looks very rough, and the contrast between this first layer and the finished painting is often very surprising!
- Apply color to the painting

Here our artist carefully mixes the color and applied color to the canvas to create depth perspective and color requirements. The layer of paint needs to be dry before the artist continues work.
- Work continues

Here we will focus on the techniques or effects that the original artist used by using various shape artist brushes, by using more or less paint on the brush, or by utilizing different painting techniques.
- Adding details

In this step we focus on the small details, such as shadows, highlights, shading and the color density and other elements of the painting. All of these details are vital elements to an excellent reproduction that has the prominence of the original painting.
- Complete and finishing touches

After we've finished the painting, we will invite several master artists, who have more than 15 years of experience, to our studio to offer professional opinions or approve the painting. We can also email a photo of the painting to the customer and make any change according to their request at no extra cost.
